A poem for Mam:
Hard working mother, caring daughter, loving wife
Your presence enriched everyone's life
So genuine and kind, you saw good in everyone
Courageous to the end, you were such an inspiration
With your big brown eyes and radiant smile
Even through your illness your beauty stood out a mile!
Photographs of you bring me joy and pain
Mixed emotions, but my memories of you will always remain
Losing you was so unfair
There can’t be any God out there
I know you wouldn't want me to feel bitter, but I feel so cheated
Such a struggle for you and Dad, then finally defeated
Dad said he believed his love could get you through
Pain in my heart because I didn't get to see you
One moment I am fine, then suddenly I'm in tears
Keeping busy and distracted, but for how many years
Should I block out the hurt or embrace the sorrow?
What will make me feel better tomorrow?
I'll try to be brave like you'd want me to be
And live my life so you'd be proud of me
So if your watching from above
I'm so grateful you were my Mam, and I send you all my love!
Miss you Mam, Love from Kerry xx
